All new PixCompare for Mac available

PixCompare 5.0 was redesigned from ground up. The new graphical results view helps users to find and delete duplicates easier than ever. The old list mode is still available though. A new, darker design was selected to better highlight the pictures. Also, the new version is fully compatible with the new macOS 10.13.

Geiger-Müller Counter Project

A while ago, I decided to build my own Geiger-Müller counter to be able to measure radioactivity myself. After Fukushima, all reasonable priced counters were sold out, so I’ve decided to build mine based on a Velleman Kit. (K2645)

Projects from the past: LocalLink Controller

The LocalLink controller was my first and only chip design project. It was part of my studies at the ETH Zürich, done in collaboration with my colleague Alex Hueber.

The chip implemented the LocaLink protocol for AppleTalk networks. It was used to connect PC printers to the AppleTalk WAN. A total of 10 chips were fabricated in a CMOS 1.2µm process.

Apple Forever Museum

Together with some collegues, we started collecting old Apple Computers and related equipment. For a while we had an exhibition in our office. Unfortunately, we had to close that, but most of the machines are still around. The collection is now maintained virtually through the website below.
